🐅 Digital Forensics Teaching Assistant @ RIT 2023 - 2024

At RIT, I was a Teaching Assistant for the undergraduate and graduate computer forensics classes (CSEC 464 / CSEC 730) where I assisted with and graded DFIR Labs, exercises and exams.

Skills: FTK Imager, Autopsy, Volatility, LiME, SIFT Workstation, Communication, Teaching

🌳 Professional Services Consultant (Extended Expertise) Intern @ Palo Alto Networks 2022

My intern project consisted of collaborating with my team to create a tool that automates the process of generating “As-Built” documentation for customers. We reduced the amount of time needed to generate documentation to less than 2 minutes per document. I was specifically responsible for designing the Docker implementation for services used to run a multi-service platform.

Skills: Docker, Jinja, Automation, Python, Project Management, Leadership, Networking

👩‍🏫 GenCyber Summer Camp Instructor @ RIT 2021

For this internship, I developed cybersecurity curriculum for highschool students. My curriculum included the following topics: Introduction to Cybersecurity, Introduction to Programming in Python, Cryptography, Steganography, and Digital Forensics. At the end of the summer, I virtually taught this content to ~25 8-12th grade students over the course of 5 days.

Skills: Cryptography, Steganography, Digital Forensics, Python, Leadership, Teaching

RESEARCH

💻 Utilizing Large Language Models in Forensics to Enhance Investigation Efficiency and Accuracy, Rochester Institute of Technology 2024

This project aimed at determining if we could expedite a typical digital forensics investigation process by creating a specialized Large Language Model. My team established a series of quantitative measures (Consistency, Accuracy, and Guidance) for evaluating our model’s results. Please refer to our poster presentation for the results!

Disclaimer — This is an undergraduate capstone project. At its current state, it is still extremely premature and requires further testing, research, and refinement. Although these results impressive, we find them insufficient in assisting in a DFIR investigation in a professional setting.

Skills:  Digital Forensics, Llama2, ChatGPT, Research

😷 Multimodal Emotion Recognition with Surgical and Fabric Masks, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) 2021

This research was done as part of a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at NYIT. For this research, I worked independently to determine how masks impact interpersonal communication using machine learning techniques. Our research paper was also accepted into the 2022 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing.

Disclaimer — The summer I was accepted for this REU, I worked on this project independently. Professor Cao and another student later continued working on the project as I was not able to cover the facial recognition portion of the research due to time constraints.

Skills:  Machine Learning, Speech Recognition, openSMILE, CREMA-D, Python, Research, LaTeX
